Staying Healthy with a Desk Job

Posted on the 13 August 2014 by Lifeofasportswife @jessaolson
When I was in Arizona I had a desk job. I have always had a desk job with a drawer full of unhealthy snacks. Then I weighted myself and I weighted more than I have EVER weight. Also none of my clothes fit either and I needed to make a change.  Here are so tips that I have been doing, and I hope that they help you! (I am not an expert or a personal trainer, but these are tips that I have effective in my journey to get in shape.  1. I changed my drawer of unhealthy snack drawer to healthy snack drawer. You might become unpopular with your co-workers because you have always had food, and now the food isn't so good anymore.  2.  Sit on exercise ball. I have one at home another at work. I love sitting on the stability ball during dinner. Yes, the hubs makes fun of me too.  3. Bribe myself. If I don't get an afternoon coke or snack then at the end of the week or month I reward myself. Right now I have 2 going on. The first is that I lose another 4% of my body weight in February, and the hubs will by $40 of yarn. (I already have the yarn picked out too.) The other is I have to get to my ideal weight by August, and keep it off until December. If I do I will go to Lululemon and get a jacket.  4. Do a lap. At work we got (2) 15 minute breaks and a lunch hour. During the break I would walk around building. I would also be multi-tasking and check social media as well. It also doesn't take an hour to eat my lunch so I would go outside and walk around the building. It's great because it counts as steps in my day to hit my fitbit goal AND my gym pact.  5. Start a competition at work. Many places have done The Biggest Loser competitions or a new thing is Dietbet. If you haven't heard of Dietbet it's where you put money down (various prices depending on group) and commit to lose either 4% or 10% of your body weight.
