Super M to the Rescue...

Posted on the 20 June 2012 by Felicakes @felicakes

The first part of June has been really hard on me. The Lil' Tiger had a suspected ear infection which turned out to be nothing but sore ears due to 2 year old molars. She had a mild fever and was complaining about her ears or as she puts it "Ear Owie". Our last long weekend in a long time was spent indoors. Then, I got sick. It was a really bad one too. I had slight vertigo, my ears ached and the migraine caused by my sinus was being a bitch. I couldn't even get out of bed the first day. I felt so sorry for myself.

Who was there to save me? Why.... super M of course.  He was amazing. Got up early, got the Lil' Tiger ready for day care, went to work came home and tend to a sick wife. I think he is a keeper. I helped as much as I could. I think I muttered something along the line "That bag (points at bag) is for child day care" or "That jacket (points at jacket) she wear for day care" from the bed. I can't remember. It was  a daze really. All I knew that it was a whirlwind from the time he woke up to the time he drove the car out of our garage. I should explain that M starts work at 730am and we take the public transport to work so he had to catch the 7.15 train to be at work on time.

I am thankful that we are finally in sync. We finally got our rhythm on how to do this together. We had a rough start but I am thankful that he we finally get it (more on that soon). I am thankful for him taking care of me when I really needed him. I think this is where the "in sickness" part of our vows comes in to place. HEHEHE...

I am thankful that M has a wonderful boss that really understand what it is like to have a family, even though he has no children of his own. It's really rare for someone who doesn't have children or young children, to understand that children who goes to day care gets sick all the time. M's boss is constantly telling M that he can work from home anytime or every time that the Lil' Tiger is sick. He tells M that he can work from home a couple of days a week if he needs to just so that he can tend to the Lil' Tiger. I am so thankful for someone like that in our lives. I think I need to bake his boss a BIG CAKE to say thank you.

I am thankful for my boss and colleagues as well because they also understand that we get sick because supposedly day care kids bring back loads of germs from day care. One of my colleague, I fondly called Catchy, told me that her son use to get sick all the time when he was a toddler because he goes to day care and now, as a teen, he hardly ever gets sick because he had everything under the sun and his immune system has gone through everything. That statement made me feel less guilty because I send her to day care full time ( I have to deal with that issue in another post).

So far June has been really rubbish for me but I am thankful that I am on the mend now.

A little bit wordy today I know but What are you thankful for this month?
