Sooo… that may seem like an oxymoron, but I want to give you the low down on the Mykos 3 day cleanse. To make a long story short… I LOVED it!!! Here’s why…

First of all, let’s talk about the juices. I started each day with 16 oz of lemon water. This totally cleans out your system and preps you for the day. Throughout the day I drank 6: a green juice, spicy lemonade, nut milk (<– yum), alive tea, a second green juice, and last but not least a pink cooler. All of the bevies were delicious in their own special way. If you like green juice, you will love this one. It was super tasty and packed a real nutrient punch. The spicy lemonade was great. I like things spicy, so the cayenne pepper was a total bonus! The nut milk… where do I begin? I’m a huge fan of almond milk (it’s the only kind of “milk” I ever use), but this nut milk was seriously out of this world. I don’t know what it was that made it so special, but I’ve gotta say that breaking up all of the fruity-ness with this creamy treat in the afternoon really made my day! The alive tea was minty and refreshing, and the pink cooler was sooooo delish. It was infused with fruity goodness and I definitely ate the blueberries floating at the bottom (<– solids… score)!!

For me, the first day was the toughest. I am prone to headaches as it is and I always get them when I am cleansing. Today was no different. I had a headache pretty much all day… not a terrible one, not a turn off the lights and don’t talk to me headache, just a dull, nagging headache. I didn’t take anything for it. Popping an Advil during a cleanse just seems wrong. I knew it would pass, and it did! Other than that minor annoyance, day one was smooth sailin’! I drank tons of water throughout the day and for “dinner” I had a small bowl of lettuce with 1/3 of a green pepper, 1/3 of a persian cucumber and some lemon juice squeezed on top (I ate this all 3 nights btw). Greens are allowed on this cleanse… hence my green dinner. Kermit would be proud.

Day two was a breeze. I drank my lemon water and my juices as per usual. I felt great and I was already down 3 lbs.  I don’t necessarily think that weighing yourself on the daily is a healthy habit, however, I think that when you’re on a cleanse it is super motivating. Just keep in mind that part of your weight loss is water weight.

Day three! Day three is always something to celebrate if you ask me. The finish line is in sight and you start to feel a sense of accomplishment. Day three’s menu was the same as days one and two with one exception. The second green juice was replaced with a second spicy lemonade. This gave me an extra cleansing kick! I may have been a bit to active on day three which led to a little dizziness and light headedness in the afternoon. I knew that it was no big deal, I had just expended way more calories than I had been consuming. A handful of raw almonds did the trick and I was feeling back to normal in no time. Raw nuts are permitted on the cleanse if you feel like you are totally famished, but I didn’t need them up until this point. I love almonds and I knew that if I had started them earlier in the cleanse I would be way too tempted to snack.  The rest of the evening was easy peasy. I kicked back with a Lifetime movie (<– my guiltiest pleasure) and thought about the healthy foods I would eat on day four!

It’s so important not to undo what you have just done. Post cleanse you should focus on small, nutrient dense, super healthy meals and tons of water. I mean, your stomach has shrunk and your bladder has grown so you might as well take advantage of it! I started my first post cleanse day with my lemon water (this will now be how I start each and every day). I made a smoothie with almond milk, berries, and some Perfect Fit protein powder for breakfast and it was so tasty! I continued my day with small, healthy snacks like nuts, fruits, and veggies. I found that I was getting full really easily and drinking water like a fiend. It was awesome. I think it’s important to choose something other than food to reward yourself for finishing the cleanse. I rewarded myself with some new running shoes followed by an awesome workout! All in all, I absolutely loved this cleanse! I lost 6 lbs in total, but more importantly I feel great! I am bursting with energy, my head feels clear, my skin looks and feels amazing, and I am super motivated to keep up the good work!
