The Happy List 2013 Makeup Edition

Posted on the 11 January 2014 by Genzelkisses

I was supposed to do my THL (The Happy List) for December 2013 but I guess it would be better to share my favorites the whole year round last year.  I’ve also read a lot of my blogger friends posting theirs and I really enjoyed it!  It’s like filling out my list of products to try this 2014.  I’ll be doing the makeup edition first then the face and body care list is to follow.  I’m afraid you might get bored if I’ll combine them because of infinite scrolling. *lol*

The Happy List - Favorites 2013 - Genzel Kisses

The Happy List 2013 Makeup Edition

It’s really hard to pick only a few.  If you did this post, I know how you felt doing it.  I based it on the products that I used frequently the moment I lay my hands on it.  Sad to say, I’ve already finished some products that are supposed to be included here.  I’ll mention them anyway.

The Happy List - Favorites 2013 - Genzel Kisses - lipsticks

LIPS

Oh my golly, I forgot to include my lip balms.  You may not find lip gloss here as I’m not really fond of using any.  For me, my lips look plump enough (braces add to it) to the point that I want to reduce my lips!*laughs*

Shu Uemura in Mon Shu Red –  it’s my first ever red lipstick.  I was afraid to wear red before as I might look mature and all but I ended up loving it.  Read my review and you’ll know why.

Colour Collection Lipstick in Kissmark - My first bright pink lippie.  I like the shade of this so much.  I look refreshed and blooming every time I wear this lipstick.  It’s long lasting too!

BYS Cosmetics Lipgloss and Lipstick Duo in Dusty Rose -  This is perfect for everyday look.  Nude pink color that gives emphasize to your eye makeup.

The Happy List - Favorites 2013 - Genzel Kisses - Concealers - Primer

FACE: Primer, Concealer, Foundation, Brush

Lioele 3D Skin Fix Makeup Base –  I use it almost every single day most especially when I was still working in an office last year.  It makes the makeup lasts longer and doesn’t leave any white cast.

Benefit The Porefessional primer –  This product works!  It minimizes the appearance of pores and makeup glides onto the skin smoothly.

The Face Shop Phytogenic Infinite Concealer Duo in NB23 –  I haven’t reviewed this yet but this is my go-to concealer.  The other end is stick and the other is cream like a lip gloss.  This is effective!

Zero Kuma Concealer in Type 1 –  No review yet but I love using this concealer especially when I’m wearing full makeup.  It hides blemishes and stays put for hours.

Too Cool For School BB Lunch Box Foundation –  This is one of the best foundations I’ve tried!  Gives that healthy and illuminating effect on my skin.

Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation in I’m so money honey -  I can say that this my all time favorite foundation to date.  It’s just WOW! <3

Real Techniques Buffing Brush and Foundation Brush – These two are my current favorites for applying cream products.  They work wonderfully and make my skin look airbrushed.

The Happy List - Favorites 2013 - Genzel Kisses - BB Creams - Powders

FACE: Powders and BB Creams

I have a lot of favorite BB Creams but I have to pick at least 3.  I use BB Cream more often than foundation because it’s lighter on skin and looks more natural for me, but I’ll be trying to scout more foundation makeups this year.

Encara BB cream –  This works as foundation!  Covers blemishes pretty well and lasts for about 4-5 hours or more under normal temperature / no sweating.  Works on different skin tone.

Celeteque Multi-Benefit BB Cream -  This BB Cream is affordable and works like magic on skin.  Whenever I use this, I don’t apply primer prior to it because I want the benefits it gives to my skin.  I’ve left it overnight on my face for how many times already but never did a pimple pop out of the plain.

Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Stick in Fresh –  I just started using it recently and fell in love with it.  Looks so natural on skin.  It’s like your skin but better.  Lasts long and doesn’t make my skin oily.  I’ll be reviewing this soon.

Hayan Face Silky Powder –  One of the best loose powder I’ve tried.  Great thing is, it’s super affordable.  I never thought it will be so much effective on giving that “illuminating effect” on the skin.  I’ve also recommended this to my friends.

Ellana Mineral Cosmetics Loose Powder Foundation in Hazelnut Latte –  Ellana is my first ever mineral makeup brand in college.  I got hooked and enjoyed a lot of their products including this one.  It’s mineral makeup but their products are really affordable and effective!

The Happy List - Favorites 2013 - Genzel Kisses - Blushers - Bronzers

FACE: Blushes, Bronzers, Highlighter

Let’s start with the blushes!

ELF HD Blush in Encore -  This will take me forever to finish.  The most pigmented blush I’ve seen (not sure if it’s just because it’s in cream form).  This freaking lasts the whole day too!

IN2IT Baked Blush in Copper Pearl –  I always receive a compliment every time I wear this.  It’s the perfect peach color blush that I have at the moment.  It looks natural on the cheeks and makes you look fresh.

The Face Shop Lovely Me:Ex Angel Skin Powder Pact in NB45 –  My first bronzer ever!  It looks natural on skin.  Doesn’t make you look dirty (you know what I mean when someone put bronzer and went overboard).  It lasts long but needs retouching if you’re going to sweat in the middle of the day.

Sleek Face Form Palette in Fair -  A must have in your kikay kit especially for travelling.  It comes in contouring powder, highlighter, and blush in one palette.  The blush is raved as one of the closest dupes for Nars Orgasm.  I don’t have Nars Orgasm yet so I can’t testify to it but based from the reviews I’ve read, it is.

Charm Powder Brush and Marionnaud Angled Blush Brush are my favorites for applying blushers!

The Happy List - Favorites 2013 - Genzel Kisses - Eye makeups

EYES

For mascara, my ultimate favorite so far would be Maybelline’s The Magnum Volum’ Express (not in the photo) it’s affrodable (less than 500) plus it works on the curling and lengthening department for your lashes.

Maybelline the Hyper Curl Volume Express Waterproof –  My next favorite mascara.  This makes my lashes look naturally long and they stay like that the whole day.  I’m really impressed.  For that dolled-eye look, try to combine it with Maybelline’s the Magnum!

The Body Shop Super Volume Mascara –  Gives a nice oomph to my lashes.  My only concern about this, it takes forever to remove even if you use a good eye makeup remover, you’ll end up with panda eyes.  This is perfect for halloween then, lol.

Jazzy Eyebrow Gel in 003 –  They say it’s a great dupe for MAC’s Girl Boy brow gel.  Haven’t tried the latter but I’m so impressed with this brow gel. It lasts the whole day and with proper application, it makes your eyebrows look gorgeous!

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil  in Milk –  This product was recommended to me by Eyah of Eyahnism.com to make the color on the eyes pop out more.  I use this as a base for my eyeshadows and I like it!

The Face Shop Lovely me:ex Style My Eyebrow –  The shade looks natural on my eyebrows.  Sometimes, I don’t need to put on my brow gel for a fix.  The color blends easily on my brows.

Prestige Retractable Eyeliner in Black –  Bought this from Beauty Bar for more than 300 bucks I think.  Glides on my lids smoothly.  I also use this for tightline.  I just find it kinda pricey tho.

ELF Eyelid Primer - I use this to prime my lids before I apply eyeshadows.  It works on making the color lasts longer plus it’s affordable.  Go and buy one for your mom!

Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler in Karl Lagerfeld Limited Edition –  It took me a while before I bought it because it’s too pricey for me for an eyelash curler, but now I realized why.  Been using this for almost a year now and it still looks new!  Never did I loss a single lash with this curler.  It comes with a free cushion that I still haven’t touched yet.  I hope this can make it to next year again!

Another favorite retractable eyeliner of mine would be Avon Glimmersticks in Blackest Black (not in the photo)  Already finished it tho.  I love it’s lasting power!

The Happy List - Favorites 2013 - Genzel Kisses - Eyeshadows

EYESHADOWS

MakeUp Academy Undressed Me Palette –  Great dupe for Naked 1.  I’ve read a lot of reviews about it before I made a purchase and true, the colors are very close to those of Naked 1 and super pigmented.  Another great thing about this is the prices, it’s less than half a thousand.

Urban Decay Naked Basics – This is my first ever Naked Palette that I won from Yette of Yetteskiedoodle’s giveaway.  I am super in love with this.  It’s the reason why I wanted to purchase more Naked palettes!  Perfect for everyday wear and with buttery texture.  I’ll review this really soon.
