Last weekend I participated in The Neon Run, a 5K where you get sprayed with neon paint at every k during the race. I was so excited prerace to meet some friends during the race. This is one of the first 5K's I have done in a while. I really wasn't sure what to expect, but I did have a good time meeting a new friend.
When I got there I was greeted by Heather from Brie Brie Blooms. She was able to pick up some more neon stuff, and even made us glow stick earrings. I absolutely LOVED them. Here are some pictures of us throughout the race courtesy of Mrs. Heather.
This was also the same weekend my parents were town. My mom wasn't feeling too well so she stayed at home and kept Heisman company. My dad and Gary came with me, and it was so much fun to catch up in the car ride. We took the roads, and avoid the interstate. Good thing we did because you could see all the cars lined up just waiting to get to the Neon Run. Here is the starting line point. It was so much fun and got us pumped up for the race with tons of music and everyone was covered with glowsticks. Some people got really creative with tutu's and costumes. I wasn't so creative and just wore my shirt they gave us and some black shorts. I thought I was going to get covered with neon paint, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. I just got a few colors on my shirt, but you really couldn't tell on my shorts. I had a lot of fun meeting a new friend and being able to get to know her more through the 5K. I can't wait until the next race and hopefully we all can meet and have a blast together. You can also connect with The Neon Run on Twitter and Facebook
Disclosure: I received a complimentary race bib but all opinions are my own.
