The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to Him in song. - Psalm 28:7
The past two days have been pretty challenging...My mom hasn't been feeling well lately.A week ago, she started feeling extremely drowsy despite having enough sleep at night. And then last Monday, she began experiencing dizziness.Thinking that the dizziness could be due to vertigo, I accompanied her to an ENT specialist. She was examined and the doctor's findings turned out to be normal.Hence, vertigo was ruled out.She was then prescribed with a medication to relieve dizziness. So we got home and my mom took the medication. But apparently, she experienced no improvement the following morning. So we decided that she consult a neurologist. And she did.But her neurological exam was also normal. However, the doctor noted my mom's drowsiness to be unusual...So she recommended that my mom undergo a Cranial MRI...To check if there was something wrong with the cerebellum -That part of the brain which is responsible for our coordination.Admission was also suggested. So I am currently here in the hospital watching over my mom...
This and other frustrating events which I choose not to include in this post -These are enough to make me run away from the situation and retreat to my comfort zone. But this time, I can't...Because my mom needed me and there's no one else she could count on.So I had to "man up" and be there for her.
The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. - Psalm 18:2
God will be my strength -I kept repeating these words in my mind as I faced the challenges the past two days...Especially at times when I was already feeling physically exhausted and emotionally drained.Miraculously, I was able to overcome them.I know at this point that the strength I have no longer comes from me alone...But a Divine Being seems to be carrying me...Carrying this cross with me.
