Fowey bollard...
Hello once again and I am happy to announce the return of my blog 'Bollards of London'. A lot has happened in the last couple of years, I'm no longer living in London, resigned my taxi-cab license and attempting to write a non fiction book which is not easy.
I do from time to time get emails from people requesting information about street furniture and after a little thought recently and hopefully with your help (especially those of you in London) I have decided to bring the blog out of retirement/exile !
Now before anyone points out that the rather interesting bollard above can be found in Fowey eg Cornwall and not London I would like to refer people to the header of this blog and ask you to take note that I did over three years ago incorporate the blog 'Bollards of Britain' into the more popular 'Bollards of London'.
What of the Fowey bollard above well it looks has though it is made of cast iron, certainly has a nice slightly rusty appeal/look to itself. It has a chunky circular base with a tapering body which flares outwards to form a narrow rim and then tapers in towards a narrower body that is a finished off with a flat top and a small protruding element to form a rather unique looking nautical bollard of Fowey.
Welcome back to Bollards of London...
