I think this is the fastest unboxing post that I made! I received the box last Saturday, filmed at midnight until 2AM, edited everything on Sunday (after work) and now this post! This is the resultof my ultimate excitement for this box guys! I know you are excited for this too!
Just before the month of May ended, BDJ Box released their First Ever BDJ Box Luxe by Shu Uemura! I’m not that surprised to know that the boxes were all sold out in just two days after the launch! Ohh don’t be sad, I believe you may still place your order but it’s a first come first serve basis. Whew that’s a lot! So here go with the computation of the items in the box and analyze if it’s worth it or not. We got 9 deluxe samples of Shu Uemura products + 4 full-sized ones. We also have 5 samples in sachets and 2 vouchers. Overall, the full size products amount to P9,640.00. The value of the products is P15,000.00 so the deluxe samples cost P5,360.00, breaking it down into 9 items, it will be P595.00 each deluxe sample items.
You might be wondering, how come since they are just deluxe samples and not full-sized? Well, let’s be reminded that we cannot easily get deluxe samples from any brand. What they give us whenever we visit their counters in malls (be it solo stores or one of the brands in Rustan’s), they will give you sachets. Also, deluxe samples are sometimes being sold online. Remember the Hourglass primer sample that I reviewed? I bought that for P350.00. BUT, even if we exclude the deluxe items, did we still get what we paid for? For P4,280.00 a box, you get P9,640.00 full-sized bottle that is already more than double of your sub fee.
Is the box worth it?
For me? Oh, definitely I’ll give you a YES to that. However we have different preferences and interests in so many things including beauty brands / products. My way of thinking is, I will pay P4,280 then I’ll get triple of my money’s worth. Talk about the brand? Shu Uemura is a high end brand and one of the leading names in beauty (skincare / makeups), one of the reasons why I went crazy and overly excited receiving this box. You may say, “Oh it’s so expensive, I won’t even use all of the items in that box!” So, let’s say I wanted to purchase and use just the cleansing oil for P4,095.00, then I will just need to add a few more (around 200 bucks) and I will have 12 more items to bring with me that I can share with my friends and family (assuming you’re not interest with any of them).
No wonder the boxes were sold out in just 2 days! Fret not, you can still email them and they will let you know once there’s an available slot for you. I’m not trying to convince you to get the box, I’m just making my point why I find this box worth spending someone’s hard earned money. 4k is worth sweat and blood of hard work so we must spend it wisely.
