Wally's Toy Shop - a Favourite Local Independent

Posted on the 20 December 2013 by Mummysspace @mmeeee
On our first visit to Maidenhead, a couple of year before we moved to the area, we discovered a very special store, Wally's Toy shop. At the time we had been looking for a new location to move to and was exploring various potential town centers by having a stroll around the shops. I still remember walking in to Wally's and thinking what a refreshing change from the giant toy stores, it felt special jut like a toy shop should. On that visit we got Ben some wooden train pieces and years on they still remain firm favourites when his train set comes out to play.

Wally's is one of those stores you can tell kids love to visit. It has been in Maidenhead for four years, employing three staff  and is a firm favorite with the local children. The excitement starts with the big Toys sign outside and the windows which are packed full of bright and colourful toys to set little ones hearts racing at a mere glimpse, but there is also a sense of nostalgia for adults when you walk inside and catch sight of things that remind you of your childhood fondly. I love the variety of toys they stock which include a mix of modern, wooden, old school, educational and pocket money treasures - there's something for every taste and budget.
