Last weekend was one of the most unforgettable moments of my life. If we’re connected on any of my social media pages, you know how surprised I was and happy to attend the Watsons Hair Affair at SM Southmall. All the while I thought it’s one of the typical events that I used to attend. You know, beauty talk and photo sessions but during the briefing before the event started, okay imagine my face when I knew I’m gonna be one of the hosts for the event?! *I wanna die! LOL* “Okay Gen-zel, breathe, breathe, you can do it, you can do it”, as I told myself.
So anyway before I become so talkative here, let’s start with the event. Watsons Hair Affair events aim to educate people especially us women, different ways on how you can wear your hair. Our hair is our crowning glory, it can make or break your style. Hairstyle must be appropriate with the whole look including makeup, outfit, and accessories. It’s the overall style/look.

Now with the hairstyling demo, I was privileged to work with the talented Hair Stylist and Makeup Artist, Ms. Kristine Ramos! She did makeovers on the hair of our three (3) pretty models that day while I suggested different makeup looks and outfit that will match the hair.
First Hairstyle : Up-do
Love this hairstyle. It’s perfect for formal events like graduation or prom then match it with a turtleneck dress or tube dress. Accessories can be as simple with a pair of elegant earrings and a piece of necklace to match the dress.
Second Hairstyle: Braids
This time, she did a fishtail braid which is a very flexible hairstyle. You can wear this on your regular days if you’re bored with the classic braid. Hang loose some hair in front to frame your face. This can be matched with casual or formal outfits.
Third Hairstyle: Waves
Here she did big curly waves on her hair. Unfortunately, my camera just died before it was finished (I need to buy an extra battery next time). The trick here is, set your hair for long lasting curls. Curl it with a curling iron, use a bobbi pin and set it like the photo above. Put on enough extra hold hair spray before you hang loose your hair. Comb with a big hairbrush and separate into sections for that natural look. This kind of hairstyle is suitable for glamorous look. However, I don’t advise to wear this style in going to interviews because your interviewer might get distracted with how gorgeous your hair is.
