Hello Countryside – and not that half arsed ‘semi rural’ countryside that I live near.. No, this is the ‘proper’ countryside, with cows grazing and everything.

The worst feeling in the world is when you are on the motorway and Sat Nav decides to re-calculate about 50 times in a row and you only have a very limited time to decided if you need that approaching slip road or not. Actually, the worst feeling in the world is when you have just taken that slip road, that very wrong slip road which means you are now going the.wrong.way. Noo!

Thankfully, I wasn’t faced with that scenario this time, instead I was the passenger who promptly had a map thrown at my face with the kind guidance of “Find out where the **** we are going!” After my impromptu crash course at reading a map (most of the pages are unbound and out of order) I am genuinely happy that I managed to find Worcestershire and the M5, A835 and M42 etc., and follow it to our destination.

First impressions of our site – all the caravans are pitched on different levels and there are many sloping and narrow car tracks that lead you to the top level of the site. Our caravan is pitched on an elevated level which means we get a great view over the park. I have been in a range of good and (really) horrible caravans and the same applies to all the different park-sites I have stayed at. So we have already established the site looks pretty decent – but to my pleasant surprise, after walking up the wooden steps that curved around the caravan, I was greeted with our very own decked out veranda! I don’t think I have ever had such a good view from a caravan before and I really am trying to think back as most of the places sort of merge into one.
