When I think of summer drinks cider always springs to mind so I couldn't wait to tell my husband when I was
asked to review Westons Wyld Wood. Wyld Wood, formerly known as Premium Organic is a delicious cider produced from fruit sourced in Herefordshire’s organic orchards. They pride themselves in the natural, crisp taste of it.
Taste Test
We were sent both the still and sparkling cider varieties. The sparkling comes in 500ml bottles which were perfect for sharing with my husband as we indulged in a glass or two over the past week. The combination of a warm sunny day and a cool refreshing cider over ice really is just perfect.
The still cider comes in a three liter box which is such a fantastic idea for camping, festivals, parties or just ensuring you always have your favorite cider easily available, on tap in the fridge (you just have to remember to put the ice in the freezer). We found the box lasted for ages, I was seriously impressed with the amount of glasses we got out of it making it great value.
We found both the still and sparkling seriously drinkable. In fact, I would go so far as to say it is the nicest cider I have tasted. The sparkling isn't overly fizzy which I like and both varieties are just the right level of sweetness. I sometimes find ciders a bit sugary and sickly especially if you have a couple but this is not the case with Wyld Wood. As crazy as it sounds it has a natural taste to it which I guess is attributed to it's organicness.
The Big Festival
Westons Wyld Wood are also involved with a rather exciting event being held on the 29-31st August called The Big Feastival. This is a family-friendly foodie and musical festival for 15,000 in the Cotswolds and Wyld Wood is the official cider of the festival for the second year running. The Wyld Wood Cider Bar is located within a cool tepee which will once again be centrally located. It sounds like such a fun, exciting festival perfect for families I know we are going to try and see if we can make it.
Where to Buy
Wyld Wood is available nationwide and you are able to buy it in a variety of supermarkets and indendent stores across the country, including Waitrose, Morrisons, Tesco and Sainsburys. Or of course, you are able to order all the range from the comfort of your own home from the Westons online shop.
