Why I Blog?

Posted on the 05 January 2015 by Lifeofasportswife @jessaolson
In West Virginia when I tell people that I blog they think that I am crazy. A few of my co-workers always joke that I blog about blogging. They also think that my picture to the right is a glamour shot. At first I thought I was crazy for blogging, but I remind myself all of the great things that have come from blogging.

Like everything else in WV I wonder why I do a lot of things because it seems like I am alien. So I got to thinking on why I blog (as well as everything else I do)

My reasoning for blogging has evolved over the years. At first I started blogging because we were living in Kansas, newly engaged, and I wanted to share my life with my family. I had planned to write more about our wedding details because a lot of it was DIY. (So thankful for crafty mom)

It switched again while in OKC and sharing what I went through as a sports wife. At the time he worked for the Oklahoma City Redhawks (now OKC Dodgers). And he is now working in the front office for another minor league baseball team. I wanted to write about my life whatever that included.

Then I got pegged as I only write about sports (I can't blame them) but when I would sign up for swaps people would say I don't like sports so I don't think we have anything in common. So I re-branded to my name. I couldn't have been happier. Now I literally write about whatever I want.

In this next phase of blogging I want to be more vulnerable and more real moments in my life and marriage. I struggle with this mostly because I'm afraid. I'm afraid of what others will think or if they will judge me.
