This is the title of the most recent romantic-comedy movie released in my country. It follows the typical ugly-duckling, turned into a beautiful swan plot. I rarely watch Filipino movies on the big screen but my mom wanted to watch a no-brainer, and a no-brainer movie is what we got.
I found myself yawning over extended drama lines, cringing at the corniness, and wishing that they should have done better with the soundtrack. I did not appreciate Xian Lim's flat notes during his serenades. Don't get me wrong. I also laughed at the jokes and found a few strong points with the cinematography.
But what I couldn't let pass is how they portrayed Kim Chiu when she was supposedly ugly. I get her jologs(dorky) behavior and her thick brows... but the focal point of her ugliness was her HAIR.
Tell me..does this look ugly to you?

I know lots of girls out there from different ethnicity with hair as curly or even curlier, and I've always thought they were beautiful.
Also, I don't see anything wrong with her original fashion sense here.What's wrong with the colorful skirt, denim vest and printed leggings?
With countless of fashion blogs out there, I thought personal style is more acceptable these days. But I guess that isn't the case as far as movie producers are concerned.
And I guess because I like printed leggings too, then my crush can't also like me back?

The truth is, my over-sized top isn't that long so I always wear a pair of shorts underneath.

Despite my love for expressing my personal style, however off it may be, my crush does like me back. And that's for the same reason why I would wear this outfit (and write blog post after blog post despite my imperfect grammar).
Because I'm not afraid to be me.
And I don't go crushing over jerks who can't handle that.
