Saving lives today. I know I sound like a broken record when I say nothing beats weekends at the station, but nothing beats weekends at the station. It's been a good shift. Had breakfast, checked out the units, outside it's nice and cool, a little overcast, teasing like its gonna rain, but it won't. The cool breeze outside makes everything better. We alternate calls here between Engine 7 and Ladder 7 and I actually jumped on the Ladder and made a call when it wasn't even my turn just to get out. I think part of my love for this weather is directly related to my recent addiction to my fire pit. (Note to self: fire pit = great idea) There's something about sitting outside by a crackling fire late into the night with a cold beer and good music that just does not get old for me. Oh, and by the way, welcome to my 25 hour shift. The clocks go back an hour tonight and that means my normal 8 am to 8 am 24 hour shift suddenly becomes an 8 am to 8 am 25 hour shift. And no we don't get paid for that extra hour cuz whenever we work on the other end of it and its time to push the clock forward it all evens out. Even Steven. [Warning to reader: the following 2 sentences are lost and have zero to do with the rest of the entry] I made a note to self a long time ago about buying a bike and it's just barely processing. I think next week i'll buy one. [Thank you for understanding] Tomorrow is Sunday Funday. Football, pizza, beer and fire. All at the Matrix. I have a friend who's in town for the weekend who I'm trying to convince to have breakfast with me tomorrow before she leaves, but who knows. Maybe I'll jedi mind trick her into swinging by the house. If i do im taking a picture with her. You'll be jealous when u see it. Speaking of things that are fun to look at, I saw one of the coolest videos I've ever seen a while back and something today reminded me of it. Maybe that random note to self a few sentences up about getting a bike wasn't so misplaced after all. What this guy can do on a bike is unreal. I gotta try to get some sleep before the next call. Ladder 7's up and im not taking another call out of turn. Enjoy.
