Saw "Dumb and Dumberer" for the first time today. I had never seen it cuz it always looked so bad and i figured there was no way it could possibly live up to the pure genius that the original was. Well i was right, but i did catch myself laughing out loud more than once, and laughing kind of hard actually. It was just so stupid it was good. Especially catching it on tv randomly while i dozed in and out of consciousness lying on my couch after i got off work this morning. Me being delerious may have contributed to the enjoyment, but still, while I'm not quite adding it to my list of "Watch These Movies" up above, it did its job, and that's really all you can ask when watching a movie called "Dumb and Dumberer".Two nights ago, Sprunger and Hector swung by. It was Xmas night, nothing was open, so why not get together and have some good beer and a cigar? That reminds me: Note to self: Buy a small humidor for the house and keep it stocked. Note to self accepted. Sweet. Last weekend we had planned on doing the Brewsual Suspects beer club initiations here at the house but i had a cold and had to squash the whole thing. For now the initiation is simply to finish an Arrogant Bastard (pictured below). No time limit. Just finish it. A handful of people were gonna come over, Hector was going to cook up some gumbo, everyone would bring their own Arrogant Bastard and at the end of the night they'd be official Brewchachos (or Brewchachas). Well two nights ago while Sprunger was sipping on his whiskey and coke and i was smoking a good cigar he gave me, Hector goes to his ride and brings in a 4-pack. 2 Arrogant Bastards and 2 Double Bastards. It was a holiday. Why not?
This wasn't any kind of official initiation or anything, this was just us enjoying really good beer. I love Arrogant Bastard. The fact that most of the people joining are having to really practice drinking it to be able to finish it is cool cuz i actually really, really like it. It is an aquired taste though, and strong. (Arrogant Bastard alcohol content: 7.2, Double Bastard alcohol content: 10.0. Remember, I drink for science. Don't try this at home) So while the prospects work themselves up to drinking one, me and Hector just happen to be able to drink them like they're water. That's why we're in the logo. Check out the final draft compared to the original i came up with on a napkin while me and Hector talked it out at Recess a few months back.
Hector found a design guy and now all we need to do is get the logo on shirts. I think they did an awesome job from just a napkin. Things are going good right now. The beer club is gonna blow up. The djs on K-Rock talk to me through the radio. Life at the fire station is great. No more ambulance. I'm having dinner with my Mila Kunis tomorrow. Life is good. [keels over from massive brain aneurysm].
Yesterday at the station was cake. The city usually quiets down just a bit right after Xmas and before New Years. Most people are off, chillin at home, making internal decisions to stab their brother in law after New Years so that means less calls for us for a week. I like this time of year. I need to be productive tomorrow. Wake up early. Pay bills. Mow the lawn. Knock stuff out before noon. Then maybe i'll reward myself with some good thai food and maybe a good movie. I'm wanting to see "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" bad. Like Michael Jackson bad. With Reznor in charge of the soundtrack i'm thinking it'll be solid just like The Social Network was.
