Back on the Mainland

Did you miss me?
Well, you probably didn’t even know I was gone (that’s a good thing).
Two Fridays ago, the hubs and I began the trek to our fabulous 8 day Eastern Caribbean Cruise with Carnival.  It started in Miami and stopped in 4 to die for locations, St. Thomas, Antigua, Tortola and the Bahamas.

Sorry I had to keep you all in the dark.  I didn’t want to advertise that we were vacating our apartment for 9 days.  Better safe than sorry.
It was amazing being able to spend 9 days completely unplugged from the World with my husband, no phones, no internet, no TV (well we still had a TV but it had like 10 channels, 4 of which were cameras around the cruise ship).
It was also our first vacation since our wonderfully busy Mediterranean honeymoon (which I totally promise to blog about once I recap this vacation).

Because we spent our honeymoon literally running every single day from sun up to sun down, we decided that our next vacation should be a little more relaxed.
Nothing says relaxation like the Caribbean.

White sandy beaches with warm, turquoise water.  Sign me up.
This also marked the first time in our relationship that my husband planned our vacation from start to finish.  Since I was totally burnt out on vacation researching after our honeymoon (can you imagine how you plan to see Rome and Florence in one day…yeah, it’s exhausting even thinking about it), I told Mr. A that he could take total ownership of this vacation.

His Vacation Binder

He planned our flights, pre-cruise hotel and excursions all on his own.
Being the control freak that I am, I thought I would be really critical of his plans and very antsy about how everything would pan out but my husband really did a fantastic job.  We had a great time in every single port and we really got to see some once-in-a-lifetime kind of places.  Thanks hubs for all your hard work.

Since we had such a great time, I thought I would spend the next couple weeks dissecting our vacation.  We have 1000s of pictures and tons of great videos to show you.  Hopefully, they will be able to convey the beauty of the Caribbean.
So sit back and enjoy our relaxing vacation through the Eastern Caribbean.

Because who wouldn’t love daydreaming about a view like this.
