When I left off yesterday, Mr. A and I had just finished taking pictures with the pretty wild horses at Assateague Island (I organized a photo shoot there with our wedding photographers to celebrate our 1 year anniversary).
Once our horsey friend lost interest in us, our photographers, Jason and Cicely, moved us to the dunes so we could take some high contrast pictures of the white sand and blue sky.
We started off first doing some high fashion shots of my amazing hair and makeup.
All I have to say is thank goodness for amazing hair and makeup people and fake eyelashes.
On a serious note, however, I absolutely loved my hair. I told Kelley I wanted it up, to the side, and out of my face and this is the masterpiece she created.
Once we finished with the glamor shots, it was on to the big blue sky.
And another epic shot…you know where we are really tiny.
After this shot, we packed up and headed back to our cars to change into our second outfit. I wanted our second outfit to be reminiscent of a wedding so I wore an ivory dress (rented from Rent The Runway) and Mr. A wore a khaki colored suit.
We headed into our new kicks to a brand new location, a set of dunes on a nature trail in the southern area of the park.
We didn’t do a whole lot of work for these shots, just sat on the ground and held an almost kiss.
Well, it wouldn’t have been that hard had there not been a million bugs swarming around, eating us alive.
I kid you not, even though these pictures look incredibly romantic, I probably incurred about 50-75 bug bites during these shots.
Good thing they were totally worth it.
Make sure to tune in Monday for a post of my favorite pictures (and the main reason we did this photo shoot), where we recite our vows to each other again by the crashing waves of the ocean (swoon).
