I invite you to join me in celebrating Earth Day by contributing to the Jane Goodall Institute, by watching the delightful Disneynature film: Chimpanzee during opening week (4/20-26, 2012).
Not only will you enjoy a wonderfully uplifting film, your movie ticket purchase will have helped raise funds for the Jane Goodall Institute, which helps "protect wild chimpanzees, protect their home-the tropical forest; educate the next generation, and care for orphaned chimpanzees."

About the Movie
Premiering today, Chimpanzee is a family-friendly Disneynature True Life Adventure film, that chronicles the life of a baby chimpanzee named "Oscar," his mother "Isha" and his adoptive father "Freddy," in the African rain Forrest.
In typical Disney fashion, the film is light and only briefly touches on realism when moviegoers are subjected to a new found truth:  Chimpanzees eat monkey's!
I didn't know - did you?
The film also showcases Africa's stunning scenery with jaw-dropping angles of the the many breathtaking waterfalls, time-lapse photography set to a pleasant soundtrack, and an engaging narration by Tim Allen.

My Thoughts
I was invited to preview the movie last week at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, and my husband and I both agreed that second to the stunning nature photography, the closing credits which featured the production team kept us in our seat.
Although we doubt that children will enjoy hearing and seeing the production team sharing their thoughts about their work in Africa, both my husband and I enjoyed the snappy commentary, realistic approach to the work conditions in Africa, and the stunning vistas.  We look forward to an extended footage added in the DVD!
The film also confirmed another thing:  An African Safari is in order and may be one of our annual anniversary vacations!
Happy Earth Day - I hope you see the movie and share your thoughts with me soon!
