Becky G at the Premios Juventud Red Carpet

You toss your hair and pretend that your brown eyes are as blue as Christie Brinkley's.

Oh, what...you didn't do that?
Never mind that I'm a Latina with very brown eyes (or hazel depending on the light), and my hair is so dark some call it blue-black. My browness wasn't holding back my dream of becoming a COVERGIRL.
Unfortunately, photographers never followed me home and my COVERGIRL days never reached celebrity status (outside of my bathroom, of course).
But some girls get all the luck.
One very lucky, and absolutely adorable Mexican-American teenager named Becky G, didn't have to dream about becoming a COVERGIRL. She became one.
Like everything else in life, it didn't happen by chance.
At the ripe old age of 16 (SIXTEEN!) Becky G has risen to megastardum after her humble YouTube artist beginning to become a COVERGIRL that all of us can admire.
Her coming out party, so-to-say, was at last weeks Premios Juvented, that, to my non Latino followers, can be described as the Latino Peoples Choice Awards.
Yah, it's big!
So big, that it was the most buzzed about show on television last week, according to the most recent ranking from SocialGuide.
AND (insert ringing bells), the awesome folks at COVERGIRL asked me to host a soiree at my humble adobe for ten blogger friends to celebrate Becky G's performance. (I also reckon they wanted us to pose like COVERGIRLS in our pretend photo studio - but I digress).
COVERGIRL provided iPod Mini's pre-loaded with Becky G's music!
Of course, Becky G didn't disappoint in her performance, her style, and her stunning COVERGIRL makeup - that even us more mature (cough-cough) women can replicate at home (more of that later). But a party isn't a party without good food and drinks!
Fresh Brothers and Goose island provided all the yummy libations, while Princess Maya gave us a few reasons to stay entertained in between show commercials.
COVERGIRL provided complete sets of all the makeup that Becky G wore for Premios Juventud, including: Flamed Out Mascara, Flamed Out Shadow Pencils, Smoochies Lipslicks, Eye Shadow Pots, and Outlast Stay Brilliant Glosstinis
All-in-all this was an absolutely delightful evening, full of fun conversations, great music, yummy food, excellent drinks and absolutely lovely friends.I personally can not wait to see more of Becky G both as a COVERGIRL and a Latina entertainer.
Thanks COVERGIRL for the chance to celebrate every girly girl's dream come true!
