Change it Up

Beautiful day for a movie!

I will admit to it, my hubby and I tend to be creatures of habit.  A lot of it has to do with the fact that we live pretty much close to the best of anything around, so it makes difficult to change it up, and venture out of our comfortable little neighborhood. But when I received an invitation to preview the newly remodeled Rave 18 and IMAX at The Promenade at Howard Hughes Center, I couldn't say no.

Check-out the Movie-Reel Inspired Hallway and Sitting Areas

In less than 15 minutes we made it to the theater and found parking in less than five. And get this? We took the streets!  We could have easily made it to Westchester in less than 10 minutes on the 405 from West LA/Westwood!
Not being familiar with the Howard Hughes Center, other than the Starbucks that seems to be my go-to after every KMEX-TV taping, hubby and I opted to grab a bite to eat in Downtown Culver City before we got to the theater.  Boy, what a mistake that was!
I had no idea that "The Rave," also served food and cocktails at the Rave Burger Bar, which is, get this...IN the theater...which is less than 20 feet away from Nordstrom's Rack.  (Talk about a perfect evening!)

I. Must. Go. Here. Next. Time!

Although we couldn't eat, we couldn't say no to the buttery smell of popcorn and the futuristic Coca Cola ®Freestyle machines!  Let me tell you why: Raspberry Coke.  Yes my friends, it exists! After playing a little with the Coca Cola ®Freestyle machines (sorry, I do have a little kid in me at times!), we walked to our theater.  But this was the kicker, "The Rave" also had Coca Cola ®Freestyle machines outside of our theater so we didn't have to walk back to the concession stands for a refill.  HEAVEN!

Two Words: Raspberry Coke!

Any who, when we got to our seats, I am happy to report that they were plush and comfy.  This is a HUGE plus, because who wants to fight for a crappy and uncomfortable seat?  Not us. That made the evening much more pleasant.

Isn't the theater beautiful?!

After this great re-introduction to "The Rave," I am hoping to go back soon with my girlfriends, instead of my hubby, so we can get a little retail therapy at Nordstrom's Rack before we enjoy a girly movie.  Who knows...maybe Magic Mike?
Until we meet again, happy movie watching!
