It's raining hard out. No wonder I took such a long nap. And no wonder Guinness is going nuts running in and out of the rain like a maniac. He loves the rain. Hope he wipes his paws each time before he runs inside. Yeeeahhh, he won't.
Saturday, 9/27, 7:24pmI'm addicted to watching the "A Football Life" series on NFL Network. At first it was only when it was a player I knew, but now it's become every single episode period. It's amazing how much these athletes go through and what they sacrifice and endure to reach that highest stage. We see them as players with a gift, and they are, but we don't realize how much work and effort they put in and how much more they're willing to do to get to achieve that goal. And more times than not they have the weight of an entire family they're basically saving on their shoulders. I don't think it's in spite of all those things that they achieve greatness, I think it's because of those things they achieve greatness. That being said, when are the Cowboys gonna get a few of these guys together. I want to see a team of players playing like they've achieved greatness, man. Dez ain't enough.
Sunday, 9/28, 9:58amNot sure which is better.. Waking up this morning knowing it's football Sunday, or waking up this morning (like every morning) and being greeted by this awesome dog. Both.
Sunday, 9/28, 12:12pmThis is what we call the NFL Sunday Ticket perfect storm. With the Cowboys playing tonight, I get to keep it on the Red Zone Channel all day long, watching every single game with zero commercial interruptions, zero punts, zero anything but non-stop football action. The volume will be getting louder, and louder, and louder. The pizza and beer will be getting deliciouser, and deliciouser, and deliciouser. Even the girlfriend knows to keep interruptions to an absolute minimum. She's a keeper. Good god I love football season.
Monday, 9/29, 2:54pm Station 17 today. This is actually my first ever shift here. It *is* the newest station, but it's not exactly new anymore. It was built maybeeeee 5 years ago? Can't remember. But the point is that in those 5 years it was never blessed with my presence like its being blessed today I've never spent a shift here. First time for everything :) There's only 3 guys here, so it's quieter around the station than im used to. I'm used to hearing more random conversations going on [example: "Ok, let's say Carmen Electra wanted to date you, but she has a peg leg and a hook for a hand. Would you still date her?" (Of course the answer would be yes it's still Carmen Electra)]. Yeah, not much of that here today. Actually though, the captain and driver here have the same travel bug I do so we've been talking about our travels. I had no idea these guys were world travelers. I'm gonna enjoy my shift here after all. Now if I can just get to enjoy the Monday night game without interruption I'll be just fine. Oh and by the way, the Cowboys ruled last night. 38-17 annihilation of the Saints. That's the passion I'm looking for. Can't wait to see how far into the season it will be this year before they completely let me down ;)
"The Signal". If Lawrence Fishburne said ok to it, I'm willing to watch. Night ;)
[update, 11:37pm]: Weirdest. Movie. Ever. Good god. I'll never get that hour and a half back will I? Damnit. Night.
