This barbecue has gotten out of hand
There's nothing like a fun night out followed by having a cooler filled with ice water dumped on you the next day for a good cause. I didn't really plan on yesterday being an out all day and night kinda day, but that's exactly what happened. Started with lunch at Wild Wings with a couple guys from the station I was talking business with. Turns out the company I had marketed for is getting ready to boom. I like the sound of that. The wings were delicious as always and as I'm leaving there I get a text from Maldonado, "Hooters at 1:30?". I look at the time. 1:20. Perfect. Met up with him and another group of firefighters for a few cold ones. "Wanna walk over to Izzy's?" Why not. Afterward went home and literally fell asleep for 3 hours on my living room floor took a quick nap, then picked up Pamela who had just gotten into town and hit up Bj's Brewhouse and Lucky's to close out the night.
Our bartender Jessica kept the craft beers coming at BJ's, and before we knew it we were the last ones there. 1 am. Just enough time to make a quick stop at Lucky's. Pamela and I walk in and who do we see walking in minutes later? Hector and Paul. Man, I hadn't seen them in awhile. Good times had by all.
My new credit card signature. That's how I roll.
Then there's today. My cousin Mark called me out on the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge yesterday so of course I couldn't say no to that. Since he was 4 years old poor Mark has challenged me to all kinds of games, puzzles, anything and everything, and the poor guy just can never beat me. Like it's almost sad. I literally wipe the floor with him at EVERYthing. Dominoes, Monopoly, Chess, life in general, and now the ALS Ice Bucket challenge. I know it's not really something you win or lose at, but if you consider that my video is a never ending loop and his just generically ran once then it's obvious that, yet again, I have completely wiped the floor with my cousin. (Poor marky, lol). i do have to admit though, as Pamela and I had a late lunch at Senor Jaime's (delicious as always), all I kept thinking about was how friggin cold that ice was gonna be later on at home. It was cold alright.
This was the exact moment I began to wipe the floor with my cousin.
Fortunately I haven't had any close family members struck with ALS, and even though my Facebook feed has a ridiculous number of these ice Bucket Challenge videos on it lately, the fact that this silly gimmick is raising millions is a very good thing no matter what any of the haters say. So there. Even though I let out a slight [still very manly] shriek as the cold hit me, I still manned up and did it. And Pamela, it's your turn mañana :)
