When we got on scene we got on the roof, cut a vent hole to let the heat and smoke escape, then got down and helped out inside, hitting hot spots and helping with overhaul. You can see how much stuff was packed into that small house. Lots of fire load and lots of heat. All in all, no firefighters hurt. We got back to the station and the rest of the shift was chill until night hit. Call after call spaced just wrong all through the night. When I got home in the morning I hit the sack.
Yesterday was an easy day of NFL playoffs and chillin with friends. After the nap when I got home from work, I watched a really good Broncos/Steelers game and then met up with Zeller and his wife at B&J'S. That reminds me, his wife came up with a new Guinness float: The "Yellowjacket". Guinness floating over Yellow Snow IPA. I'll have to log that one down. (Good job, Zeller's wife Cathi). Had a good chill time there at B&J's then continued that good time over at Javier's with hin and Hector (pictured below). Got over there about 10ish. Good conversation and cold Tecate. I guess the conversation was really good cuz fast forward 7 hours and Hector and I are having breakfast at Ihop. Good times had by all.
Got home this morning around 6. The country omelet at Ihop was awesome. Not surprisingly, after a night like that i chilled today. I'm tailboard on Ladder 7 tomorrow. Saw they had a fire today. They tend to come in bunches. We'll see what tomorrow brings.
