Yeah that was a great idea. Good beer, good music and a hot girl with good conversation. Life was good. Closed it out and headed to Whataburger not so much out of hunger as much as we just weren't done with each other yet ;) I think it was around 3:45 am when we parted ways and another hour or so of ultra late night / early morning texting and I finally passed out, but "success!": I didn't wake up in my vehicle the next morning ;) That was Sunday. Monday was adventure-free with me paying my bills like a good little boy. And today is Tuesday. Life as tailboard is greeeeat. Started off the shift today at 5s. I've been there the last few shifts waiting for my spot at 7s to open up. It's been fun. Yeah, Station 5 is slightly gloomy (it is called "the dungeon") but the crew is good. After morning roll call and equipment check we headed out to Del Mar West Campus for training this morning and an all-day class on Rescue Rope Basics. I was actually looking forward to getting the refresher on rescue knots but I got plucked out of the class halfway through it cuz Station 5 5's captain came back from light duty and that bumped me to good old Station 1. Got here just in time for chow (spaghetti goooood), then jumped on Engine 1 and headed to 12's to relieve Engine 101 who was standing by while 12s was at that same ropes class. Made 2 or 3 runs and then finally got back to 1's around 5 just in time to hear "Chow!!!"... Timing is everything (enchiladas goooood). Word from the chief is that i'm here again next shift and then I'll be into Station 7's rotation for good. My new "home, sweet home". That was quicker than I thought. As for tomorrow's plans?.. I'm thinking a productive morning, a quick workout, maybe some quick work in the yard, and then I'm thinking about trying out Recess's "Sushi Wednesday". 3 sushi rolls for $20. Yeah, that sounds like a plan. Works for me.

Saving lives today, just not on the box. Had a good weekend with the usual suspects. Spent Sunday night over at Sprunger's with Jeannie, Jeanette, Jhavid, and Hector. Sprunger's award winning chicken along with Jeannie's mac and cheese while the rest of us chilled with a few cold ones made for a good time. Oh yeah, we simultaneously attended a Texas country concert where I saw girls making out, did the centipede from the stage to the restrooms, and Hector was on Sprunger's shoulders loving life. (long story). Ended up leaving around midnight to meet up with an old friend who was in town for the night. I picked the spot, and (surprise, surprise) i picked Recess.
