“Many small people, in many small places, do many small things, that can alter the face of the world.” Anonymous
I just learned that almost 45 million Americans used and received SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, formerly food stamps) during 2011!
45 million people is equal to the population of Argentina!
How is that even possible?!
It's scary to think we all probably know someone in this horrid position. It's worst to think that maybe, in a small way, we can all make a difference.
But that is about to change. Today.
That is why I am inviting you to join me in Sharing our Strength by joining the No Kid Hungry Campaign and watching the "Hunger Hits Home" documentary on the Food Network this Sunday, April 14 at 8 p.m. EST/PST and 7 p.m. CST.
This new documentary "takes a first-hand look at the crisis of childhood hunger in America through the eyes of the parents, children, anti-hunger activities, educators and politicians in the frontlines of the battle," states the Food Network press materials.
This film is part of an ongoing partnership between the Food Network and Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry Campaign to end childhood hunger in America by 2015.
Besides watching this film, tell your friends about this documentary and invite them to view the trailer, and making a donation to this very important cause.
