Years actually.
Instead of going back to school, I have focused on work, my career, then building a business. I never felt the pressure to go back to college once the economy started tanking.
With years of experience under my belt, I was in a much better position than the many out-of-work folks with an extensive list of degrees and certificates.
"If they can't get a job, what makes me think that an additional degree will help me grow in my job?" I asked myself.
I also ran into folks with many degrees (too many to list) and not very good at their job. I didn't want to be them.
But with time came the realization that, yes, I am good at my job, but I want to be the best in my industry
I want to be me, but better.
I want to excel at my career, not change it...and as much as I do my own reading, research, meet with like-minded folks, and grow with each project, there is always a bit of doubt at the back of my mind: Have I used every single tool, resource and pushed the limits on this?
I will never find out unless I try.
So, with my hubby's, friend and family support, it's back to college I go.
