Me. Now.

Posted on the 04 April 2014 by Latinaprpro @latinaprpro
I had been sitting down for thirty minutes staring at the ceiling when Maya bit her bone a little too hard. The bone crack caught my attention and, in essence, woke me up from my daze.
It's ironic that I can barely keep my eyes open when a week ago today I was on my A-Game.  Months of planning, actually an entire year, condensed into Three days of amazingness seems like a small price to pay for my dry skin, achey feet and tired brain.
Today I also wrapped-up the first set of tests, assignments and special projects for my college coursework.  In one week I will be on Spring Break.
This week I also celebrated, if you can call it that, my official first half in my post-healing process.  I am no longer driving with a "Disabled Parking Placard," yet still need extra time when walking up or down stairs.
Then there's my marriage...
As we entered our fifth year (being together) last November, we created a certain level of comfort and familiarity...without missing the surprises that seem to be part of our lives.
It's no longer Frank or Ana Lydia, it's Frank and Ana Lydia, together and never alone.
I can now also think in fifth's, or five years.
Pre-Frank and Post-Frank. Pre, although only five years ago, seems like a long time ago.
I am no longer that person, but that person is a part of who I am today:  A writer, a student, an entrepreneur, a wife.
This is me. Now.
