MINI REVIEWS! Orlando Food and Drink

Posted on the 04 December 2012 by Thereviewaddict @TheReviewAddict
I have already reviewed quite a few bits from my recent trip to Orlando but there is lots more food and drink that I tried whilst I was over there.  Sadly I didn't get chance to write a full review on everything but there are some things that I thought deserved a mention so here are some mini reviews!
Warning! If you are looking for anything heathy, this post is probably not for you!

Perkins Restaurant and Bakery Perkins on International Drive is somewhere that I have visited before. It has a very old fashioned look to it, almost like you are sat in someone's living room but the food is very good and excellent value for money. Pictured is the Chicken Strips Melt which is crispy chicken strips, bacon, Pepper Jack cheese with Ranch dressing on grilled sourdough bread. This came with sweet potato fries. The bakery has a massive choice and they do excellent cream pies, the Peanut Butter Silk and Chocolate French Silk are both excellent, that is of course if you have room for dessert.

Doubletree Hotel - The Cookie! We stayed at the Doubletree by Hilton at the entrance to Universal and when you first check in you are presented with a delicious hot chocolate chip cookie. I thought that it deserved a mention as I think it was a nice idea and we really needed something nice to eat after our long flight. Best of all the cookie tasted amazing, it was a big oaty thing packed with chocolate chips.

California Pizza Kitchen CPK has been around since the mid 80s and apparently they created the Original BBQ Chicken Pizza (BBQ sauce, smoked Gouda, red onions and cilantro). I especially love the Hawaiian BBQ Chicken which is the same but with added pineapple. Great pizza and great value for money.

Ranch Pringles Ranch is not as big in the UK as it is in the US which is a shame as I really like it.  Apparently it is the best selling dressing in the USA so I was not surprised to find Ranch flavoured Pringles in Walgreens on my recent visit to Orlando.  I was however surprised that I managed to get this tube home on my flight without a major crushed-Pringle disaster.  I have to say I was a little disappointed with this flavour, they don't taste that much different to the Sour Cream and Onion flavor that we already have in the UK.

Pineapple Fanta I usually only drink diet drinks but my husband had been going on about this stuff for ages and we have never seen this flavor in the UK.  Personally I wasn't impressed as it was far too sweet and syrupy and I was shocked that this bottle contained 300 calories.  A bottle of Coke contains around 240 calories so I suppose this isn't a massive difference but 300 calories on a fizzy drink seems like such a waste! Bud Light Lime Sadly something else that we don't get in the UK.  I don't usually drink much beer as I am not too keen on the taste but I LOVE Bud Light Lime.  We do have Carling Zest but it just isn't the same. Please bring this to the UK!  If anyone in the US is reading this and wants to ship me a crate then I will pay good money! MINI REVIEWS! Orlando Food and Drink MINI REVIEWS! Orlando Food and Drink
Four Loko I first heard about this drink on Epic Meal Time as it seems to be one of their favorite ingredients in their crazy creations.  Apparently Four Loko was first marketed as an energy drink and the four refers to the four main ingredients: alcohol, caffeine, taurine and guarana.  This sounds like a pretty savage combination to me, especially as 12% (ABV).  I bottled trying this as it smelt horrific but my brother managed half a can before throwing the rest away because it tasted so horrendous.  Its probably a good job they don't sell this in the UK, I can see it becoming a tramp favorite. Fiji Water One of the few healthy things I had whilst in Orlando.  I first purchased Fiji Water because of the cute girly bottle but I do think this tastes better than a lot of the other waters available, especially Dasani which is all they seemed to sell in the theme parks.  I am sure other readers will remember the controversy around Dasani in the UK which led to it being withdrawn over here.
