Moving On Up

Welcome Mat 650x433 Moving On Up

You may have noticed that ever since our Hawaii trip things have been pretty quiet on the blog.  Or maybe you haven’t icon smile Moving On Up   I’m not assuming that everyone really cares that much about this little old space.

Anyway, the reason we’ve been so silent lately is that big things were brewing behind the scenes.  This past Tuesday one of our biggest dreams came true–we moved into the house of our dreams.  It’s been quite a blur ever since.

But let me back up to the beginning.  As many of you know, we have been searching for our “forever” home for awhile now–almost a year.  Right after we came back from Hawaii, a must-see home came on the market.  We immediately dropped everything and asked our agent to show us the house (we’ve learned  the hard way that good things go fast).  As soon as we opened the front door, I was in love.  The house had the layout we were looking for and a perfectly situated backyard.  The only down side was that it was priced out of our range.

Figuring we couldn’t let such a wonderful opportunity pass us by, we wrote our best offer and a heartfelt letter to the homeowners.  We mentioned how much we loved the home and how we couldn’t wait to start our family there.  And that Mr. A couldn’t wait to play baseball at the field immediately behind the house. By the grace of God, the letter worked.  The homeowners agreed to our offer.

Cut to a month later and we are now moved into the house of our dreams.  It’s going to be slow moving here on the blog while we settle into a new routine (our commute to work is a little longer now).  On top of that, the house needs a lot of updating and cleaning.  While the layout is perfect, the house hasn’t really been touched in the last 20 years.  Our first week was spent cleaning every single surface.  I’m surprised my vacuum is still working.

I’m excited to embark on this new journey with you guys.  I hope you’ll enjoy following our adventures through homeownership–at the very least to should be amusing to see us stumbling along.

Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post where I’ll be showing some new pictures of the house.  Can’t wait to share them with you.  We have really truly been blessed with the perfect house for us.
