Jen and I recently attended the opening reception for mr. nail lounge, an exclusive and prestigious Lounge for gentlemen.Located in West Hollywood, mr. nail lounge is quite swanky and everything you would expect if you envisioned an exclusive nail salon in a film noir setting.

The Women Behind mr. nail loungeThe founders, Nana and Maston Kucheki are the masterminds behind mr. nail lounge. We had a chance to speak with both women†and we were impressed by how down to earth they were, especially considering how upscale the lounge is.
Maston told us that she was in dental school when she had an idea about starting a men's nail salon. After doing research, she realized that men's nail needs were largely ignored in Los Angeles. Running with her vision, Mason partnered with Nana Kucheki and mr. nail lounge became a reality.
Inside mr. nail loungeThe vibe in mr. nail lounge is so sharp, you'd swear you were in a Bond movie-not surprising since Nana told us Bond films inspired much of the interior design.
Decorated in gold and sleek black, mr. nail lounge evokes an Old Hollywood feel. Everything from the gold sinks to the top hat lighting to the gold tommy gun lamp near the restroom lends itself to the theme.
Not only that, but the lounge was designed to be more than a just nail salon for men. Maston conceived of a place where men could indulge themselves in a full lounge experience. The lounge has high-end salon pedicure stations across from in-house bar with a huge flatscreen television, so men can be entertained while receiving their treatments. There were also†luxurious black leather chairs tastefully scattered around the room giving more of a lounge vibe instead of a "waiting for my turn" vibe.
The Grand OpeningAs we walked up to store front, we noticed a shiny black van with a mobile barber shop inside. We could hear and see a jazz band covering modern standards through the tinted window emblazoned simply with "mr." letting you know you have arrived.
Inside, there were cigars and hors d'oeuvres being served to party-goers. The bar was open and being tended by a handsome bearded man we couldn't stop admiring. In the back, there was a photo-booth setting with props like mustaches, eyeglasses, and top hats and a gold backdrop for the perfect selfie opportunity. We had a great time mingling with other guests and getting to know Nana and Maston.
