My Exhausting Life...and a Nice Suprise

Posted on the 17 March 2014 by Latinaprpro @latinaprpro
I. Am. Officially. Exhausted.
Exhausted.
This going back to school deal is no joke. Time goes by quicker, and responsibilities fill your plate more so than the first time around. My hats off to anyone married that goes back to school after the age of forty. Actually, if you are over forty, married, and have kids, you deserve a monument built in your name.
Did I mention that going back to school is no joke?
The upside: I like it. A lot.
I'm learning more than I did the first time around. At least that is what it feels like.
Most of the classes that I am taking now have evolved or didn't exist when I went to college the first time around. Trust me: I'm a sponge.
I'm taking it all in.
Besides the time aspect of going back to school, one thing I didn't realize is how much I was living in my head. I'm so used censoring my thoughts that sometimes I stare at my classmates and instructors with absolute fear.
O. M. G, I think to myself, Someone just said what I didn't have the guts to say myself.
I have caught myself saying something quite PC in a very heated discussion about race or literature. I shouldn't have. I wasn't being true to me and opening myself up to learning.
I'm still writing like a PR gal. I need to shake out of it.
It's all a process. Even the God-forsaken E-Class, which I am not a fan of.  But that's a story for another day.
As far as work goes, PR. Is. Off. My. Plate (Jumping for Joy!).
This is the first time in more than fifteen years that I am not doing a single PR-related project. No more late night client calls or emails, or last minute budget changes. Media calls in the middle of the night and social media pitching? Not happening.
Let me tell ya'll how HAPPY I am to have left that phase in my life. ((Insert wiping of brow))
As for social media? Well, that is another story.
I'm loving it. Especially since most of it is related to my baby, the Latina Lifestyle Bloggers Collective.
Lots of exciting things are happening. Some I can't share, but the big one I can: The Fourth Annual Lifestyle Bloggers Conference.
Yes my dolls, the little conference that started with only 25 bloggers in Las Vegas, is now a boutique-conference that is co-planned by my dear, dear friends at So Cal Lady Bloggers.
Each day something amazing happens: New Sponsors, New Partners, and many of my blogging friends, old and new, joining me and 150 other amazing folks, for a two-and-a-half day conference in my beautiful city of Los Angeles.
Not only will we have leading experts in their fields share tools and tips necessary to grow our blogging business, we also have an awesome VIP party, lots of SWAG (ALL Lifestyle, of course!), and keynotes that will blow. you. away!
I hope you can join me.  Actually, I invite you to join me!

Go here to get your conference ticket and enter "cabezadecoco" at check-out for a VERY nice surprise. Trust me, it's VERY nice.
But hurry - I only have a limited number of ((cough-cough)) surprises I can share.
