This month Beech's Fine Chocolates have sent me some of their chocolate creams to review, these are some of their biggest sellers and come in a variety of flavours. As well as the 4 that I was sent (violet, rose, orange and mint), there is also strawberry, lime, raspberry, fruit and coffee flavours. These 90g boxes are £2.99 each and can be purchased from their online store.
You get 10 chocolates in a box and they are all covered in Beech's delicious dark chocolate with a soft fondant center. They contain around 39 calories per chocolate.
I have to say that the Rose Creams did not appeal as all I could think about was Turkish Delight which I am not a fan of but I tried them anyway. They weren't as fragrant as Turkish Delight but not the sort of thing I enjoy myself.
The Violet creams however were delicious and reminded me of those little sugary violet sweets from my childhood and I was pleasantly surprised at how well the flavor went with the dark chocolate.
Orange creams are a pretty standard flavour, as are mint and both of these were lovely with the mint being my favorite. Dark chocolate is definitely the right choice here.
VerdictI enjoyed all the the mint creams from Beech's with the except of the Rose Creams but that is purely down to personal taste. The chocolate was excellent quality and these chocolate creams make a lovely after-dinner treat.
