REVIEW! Burley Fudge Maple Walnut Fudge
Posted on the 22 April 2013 by Thereviewaddict @TheReviewAddictI've always been a big lover of fudge so I was excited to see the Burley Fudge stand at the Southbank Chocolate Festival back in March. I only tried one flavor at the stand but I instantly smitten and I knew straight away that I had to buy a bag because this Maple Walnut flavor is quite simply awesome!
Burley Fudge is based in the New Forest and this was the first time that I had tried their fudge. It looked lovely with it's golden brown color and crumbly looking texture. Crumbly is how fudge should look, I can't stand that overly smooth looking cheap stuff that you get in seaside gift-shops, it never tastes of much and has a weird texture.
The 150g bag that I purchased contained some really big chunks of fudge and the walnut pieces were also quite large. The fudge is clearly good quality, the texture was crumbly but as it melted it was smooth and creamy; it tasted wonderful! It started off similar to vanilla fudge but the maple syrup flavor came through as it melted in the mouth and the earthy taste of the walnuts really complimented it.
Verdict Probably the nicest fudge I have ever tasted, I wish that I had bought more!
