I spotted these Carr's Melts Cheese Batons in Sainsbury's the other day. Cheese Batons are basically bits of layered pastry topped with cheese. They were £1.59 for this 65g box which contains approximately 4 servings; a serving will set you back 86 calories.
Carr's has been around since 1831 and is based in Carlisle. They were awarded the Royal Warrant by Queen Victoria but according to Wikipedia it was lost in 2012 due to "changing tastes" in the Royal Household.
Each baton is about 1.5 inches long and one of the serving suggestions on the box is to dip these in houmous which I imagine is quite tasty. Sadly I don't have any houmous at the moment so I have just been eating them out of the box as a snack and I must say they are very moreish and quite hard to put down.
They are very light in texture and the pastry is nice and flakey but they best thing is that they are very cheesy!
Verdict Carr's Melts Cheese Batons are a really nice snack and not too heavy on the calories. My only complaints would be that being such a light pasty they are not very filling and you don't get many in the box. I bet these would be delicious dipped in some tomato soup!
