REVIEW! Chocolate Le Tube

Chocolate Le Tube
I purchased these Chocolate Le Tube in Asda the other day.  These crepes are made in France by St Michel Biscuits and are intended as a light snack.  You get 6 individually wrapped crepes in a box and they are 75 calories each (4 Syns for Slimming World members).  The box cost me a very reasonable £1.25

There were 2 other flavours available; toffee and double chocolate but I decided to keep it simple and go for these chocolate ones.  They are free from hydrogenated fat, free from palm oil and contain no preservatives, flavours or colours.
I've always had a bit of a thing for crepes and my husband loves them too. A few times a year a French market comes to town and we always make sure that we treat ourselves to a Nutella crepe and whenever we have visited Paris it is one of the things that we make sure that we do; yes it's a cliche but you can't beat eating a crepe standing under the Eiffel Tower.  So yes we are pretty much obsessed with the things, we even have our own crepe maker hot-plate thingy at home (I am sure that is not it's technical name).  One thing I will say is that I have never eaten a cold crepe so I wasn't sure how these would measure up as a snack on the go, I was concerned that it might be a bit chewy.
I need not have worried, these Le Tube tasted really good and the crepe was still surprisingly fresh tasting.  The chocolate filling was very nice and about the right amount so that it wasn't squirting out everywhere and causing a mess, but was just enough for a decent chocolate hit.
Verdict
Whilst no substitute for a freshly cooked and warm crepe, these Le Tube were very nice as a snack.  They were quite filling which surprised me for something that has so few calories.  Apparently there is a chocolate and hazelnut version of these which I will definitely be looking out for.
