Back in March I went to the Southbank Chocolate Festival and one of the things that I purchased was this bar from ChocoMe. I had been meaning to try one of their bars for a while, they just look so interesting with all the lovely toppings. Mr Review Addict and I must have spent ages in the freezing cold trying to choose which one to buy but in the end we settled for this White Chocolate bar with Pecans, Roasted Honey Peanuts and Pistachios.
ChocoMe have lots of pre-made bars with all sorts of toppings but also you can create your own! There are so many combination of toppings to choose from, including: dried fruit, spices, nuts and more fancier toppings such as crystallised rose petals or maybe some Haribo for the big kid in you.
The white chocolate is made by Belgian chocolate makers Callebaut and contains Bourbon Vanilla with 100% cocoa butter content. I must say that this chocolate is lovely and probably one of the nicest white chocolates that I have tried. It is rich and smooth and the vanilla is quite strong which is how I like my white chocolate.
The pistachios are from Bronte in Sicily. Apparently this is quite a big deal because they are only harvested once every 2 years and this means that they are larger and longer. They are grown near to Mount Etna and are thought of as some of the best pistachios in the world. Now I am no expert in pistachios so I can't vouch for them being the best in the world but they did seem larger and greener than the ones that I usually buy in the supermarket and their flavor was nice and strong. The honey roasted peanuts and the pecans were also very nice.
Verdict
I loved the white chocolate and thought that the nutty toppings complimented it really well. I thoroughly enjoyed this bar and look forward to trying more from ChocoMe in the future. I am particularly tempted by the White Chocolate with Cranberry, Freeze-dried Sour Cherry Pieces and Freeze-dried Raspberries!
