REVIEW! ChokaBlok Easter Eggs

ChokaBlok Easter Eggs
Those lovely people at Tesco PR have sent me some more ChokaBlok products to try...this time in the form of these 2 quite frankly beautiful Easter Eggs!
If you are familiar with the ChokaBlok brand you will know that it is exclusive to Tesco and they specialise in chocolate products including ice cream and cakes that are chock full of goodies.
In my last ChokaBlok review I said that I thought that I had tried all of the ChokaBlok flavours; well it turns out that there are 2 others that I didn't know about and these just happen to be the flavours of the 2 Easter Eggs that I was sent.  One of the flavours is Totally Minted which is a Belgian dark chocolate egg with mint fondant, chocolate coated mint chunks, chocolate coated mint balls, aerated chocolate chunks and mint flakes with mint oil...lots of mint then!  The other flavour, American Dreamcake is a Belgian white chocolate egg with brownie pieces, chocolate chunks, chocolate fudge chunks and chocolate biscuits.
These 300g eggs will be available in 6 of the ChokaBlok flavours in total, the 2 that I just mentioned plus The Chocolate Extremist, Billionaire's Dynamite, Starstruck Supernova and the Rocky Road of Love.  They will be priced at £5 each.  There will also be 2 very beastly 650g eggs available in Billionaire's Dynamite and Starstruck Supernova which will be priced at £10 each.
The ChokaBlok Easter range doesn't stop there; there will also be ChokaBlok Easter Ovals (flat eggs?), these are similar to the ChokaBlok Christmas Trees and ChokaBlok Chocolate Love Hearts that I recently reviewed and will be available in Cookie Mon-Star, The Chocolate Extremist, Gold Digger Dynamite and my personal favourite, The Rocky Road of Love.  These are £4 each.
The 2 ChokaBlok eggs that I was sent look absolutely fantastic in their bright and vibrant boxes.  The packaging is simple but this is a good thing as it lets the egg do the talking.

Totally Minted

I opened the Totally Minted Egg first of all, and I could smell the mint before I had even opened the box.  The front of the egg looks just awesome with all the goodies encased in a ring of white chocolate. This chocolate is really thick, especially on the front section where all the other bits are and this meant it was quite difficult to break.

The dark chocolate egg is delicious and contains little pieces of mint flakes and mint oil so it is really minty throughout the whole thing and also has a slight crunch to it.  The little white bits on the front of the egg are like a sort of soft chewy mint and the little round brown bits are the chocolate coated mint balls, these contain a minty fondant and are really nice!  This really is one minty egg and I think that dark chocolate was a good choice; milk chocolate would have been far too sweet.

American Dreamcake

My husband, not being a fan of mint absolutely loved the American Dreamcake Easter egg.  I would say that the chocolate was not as thick as Totally Minted but this egg is awesome in it's own right.  Throughout the whole egg is big pieces of chocolate cookie and brownie pieces and on the front it has all those delicious chocolate covered goodies all surrounded by a ring of milk chocolate.
The little white chocolate coated bits of biscuits added crunch but my favorite bit has to be the little fudge pieces, these are absolutely delicious and there was a bit of a fight to get the bit with the most of these on.  The white chocolate is very good quality stuff, probably some of the nicest I have tasted and very moreish!
REVIEW! ChokaBlok Easter Eggs
Verdict Easter eggs can be quite boring and I always feel like they are a con because you pay more to get less chocolate. ChokaBlok Eggs however make Easter Eggs way more exciting, not only do they have all the yummy goodies on the front, but they are continued throughout the eggs so no plain old chocolate here!  They look stunning and I really think that £5 is a bargain for such lovely looking eggs.  I genuinely can't pick my favorite of the 2 flavours that I tried, they are both absolutely delicious and I may have to treat myself to a The Rocky Road of Love one!
