Do you remember that awesome ChokaBlok Easter egg that I reviewed not so long ago? Well one of the flavours was Totally Minted and I loved it! So when I heard that ChokaBlok were releasing new Ice Cream sticks and Totally Minted was going to be one of the flavours, I was very excited! I was even more excited when Tesco's PR company sent me some vouchers in exchange for an honest review.
ChokaBlok Ice Cream sticks are exclusive to Tesco and come in 2 other flavours; Cookie Crumb Mon-Star and Billionaire's Dynamite. They come in boxes of 3 and are priced at £1.99.
Totally Minted is mint ice cream which contains dark chocolate covered mint pieces and a swirl of chocolate mint fondant. The outside is Belgian milk chocolate with sugar mint pieces scattered throughout. Each stick contains 325 calories.
The chocolate on this ice cream was lovely, it was quite thick and the little minty pieces were crunchy and refreshing. The actual ice cream was lovely and creamy; it was quite pale, almost white and the minty-ness was quite subtle. The little bits of dark chocolate covered mint pieces were quite small but both those and the mint fondant added a lovely minty freshness to the ice cream.
Verdict The Totally Minted Ice Cream stick was very nice and it was a lovely after dinner treat. I think that £1.99 for a box of 3 is actually a bit of a bargain because this is really nice ice cream and for me it easily competes with a Magnum. I will definitely be stocking up on more of these!
