Colman's Sweet Chilli Mango Sauce
I picked up this new Sweet Chilli Mango sauce from Colman's in Tesco the other day. The 274g bottle was £1.69 and it contains 90 calories per 100g.
Mr Review Addict loves mango chutney so I bought this for him but of course I couldn't not review it seeing as it's new. The first thing that I noticed is that the nozzle on the bottle was quite impressive, as far as nozzles go. It's not usually the sort of thing that I get excited about but the design makes it really easy to direct the sauce where you want it to go and that is always a good thing!
The bottle recommends serving the sauce with fish or chicken but we've been dipping potato wedges in it and it's very nice. It's smooth in texture, apart from some small pieces of chilli. Taste-wise it is very sweet, sweeter than the mango chutney that we are used to at our local Indian restaurant but it does have a very slight kick to it.
Verdict
I do like a good sauce to dip my potato wedges in, and since being pregnant I am actually obsessed with potato wedges...apparently this means I am having a boy if my hairdresser is to believed? Anyway this new sauce from Colman's made a nice change from the usual BBQ or Ketchup and I am going to be adding it to my cheese sandwiches instead of pickle!
