REVIEW! Glorious Smokin' Cheese and Jalapeño Sauce
Posted on the 26 December 2013 by Thereviewaddict @TheReviewAddictI was recently sent some products to review from Glorious Foods. Glorious make soups, dips and sauces with exciting flavours and ingredients from around the world and this limited edition Smokin' Cheese and Jalapeño Sauce sounded right up my street because Mexican inspired flavours are the sort of thing that I love. The suggestions for this sauce is to pour it over nachos, to add to burgers or to use it as a pasta sauce. I decided to go for the latter but I imagine that this sauce would be very versatile.
You can pick up a pot from Asda, Morrisons, Ocado, Budgens, Dunnes, Nisa and Superquinn. The 300g container can be heated in a microwave and it contains 106 calories per 100g.
The sauce is a bright yellow color and fairly thick in texture. The pot describes it as mild but even so I was expecting a bit more of a kick from the Jalapeños but there wasn't even the slightest heat. That said the Jalapeño flavor still came through and with the cheese it was a very tasty combination with a lovely smokey flavor to it.
I made it into a sort of Mac & Cheese type thing and stirred it through some pasta and then baked it with some grated cheddar on top. Mr Review Addict loves Mac & Cheese and went crazy for this twist with the Glorious sauce so a big thumbs up from him.
Verdict
I will definitely buy this Glorious Smokin' Cheese and Jalapeño Sauce if I see it because I can think of lots of things to make with it. I would have liked a bit heat but despite that I enjoyed it.
