Haribo Fizzy Bubblegum Splats
I saw these Haribo Fizzy Bubblegum Splats reviewed on Kev's Snack Reviews last year and finally managed to track them down in my local Asda.
Fizzy bubblegum bottles are my favorite sweets, I just love the combination of the sharp outside coating and the sweet jelly sweet beneath and I was hoping that these Haribo splats were going to be similar. The 180g bag cost me £1 and a 40g serving contains 136 calories and a whole lot of sugar but no artificial colours.
Haribo Fizzy Bubblegum Splats
The splats look quite cool, they are darker in color that the bubblegum bottles that I usually buy (not made by Haribo) with roughly half of the sweet being a bright blue color and the other half a sort of pinkish red.
Now the key to a good fizzy bubblegum bottle is that outside coating is quite sour, but not too sour, it's a fine balance. Sadly Haribo didn't get it quite right for my personal taste, there just wasn't enough of that fizzy coating. The gum was nice but didn't have a real kick of bubblegum flavour, it was sweet but overall quite mild.
Verdict
Haribo Fizzy Bubblegum Splats were OK, but I have to admit that I was a little disappointed. Haribo Sour Cherries are awesome and have a real kick to them so that's what I was expecting here but the Splats were a bit lacking.
