Another Heavenly Cakes review...I just cannot get enough of their cakes! If you recall my previous reviews, my favorite so far has been their Marathon Flapjack...will this Lumpy Bumpy Brownie score as highly?
Lumpy Bumpy Brownie is not just chocolate brownie, it has layer of caramel and is topped with natural cherries, pecans, more brownie (in chunk form) and drizzled with Belgian Milk Chocolate.
I think that it looks fantastic, it's pretty obvious where it gets it name from and as I have mentioned in my other reviews, you always get a very hefty slab of cake from Heavenly and this was no exception.
I rated their Billionaire's Brownie highly last year and this was quite similar in texture, a slight crunch to the outside and then soft and gooey in the middle, just how a brownie should be. It is seriously chocolatey and smells absolutely divine.
The caramel was lovely, very sweet and there was only a thin layer so not too much to distract from the other flavours. There were only a few nuts which again was a good thing as too many would have been over-powering but there was enough to make the texture interesting. The thick chocolate layer on the top is excellent quality but the star of the show was the cherries, they added a moistness and an interesting twist to the cake.
Verdict
There is a lot going on in this brownie but some how it all works perfectly and the different elements all compliment each other. Yes, this is my new favorite from Heavenly Cakes!
