REVIEW! Island Bakery Chocolate Limes Biscuits
Posted on the 11 January 2014 by Thereviewaddict @TheReviewAddictMy mother in law gave me these biscuits to review and I thought that they sounded interesting. I have always liked the chocolate lime sweets so I would curious to see what the biscuit form would be like.
Island Bakery are based on the Scottish Isle of Mull and produce small batches of organic biscuits. This 150g box contained 12 Chocolate Limes which were lined up neatly in a plastic tray. They contain 515 calories per 100g.
The biscuit is a shortbread and tastes nice and buttery with a bit of a crunch to it. It's a bit of an odd combination with the lime and to be honest I wasn't sure about it to start with but it really grew on me.
They contain real lime oil and the flavor does taste "real" and it makes these biscuits quite refreshing which is not something I thought that I would ever say about a biscuit. Of course they wouldn't be chocolate limes without chocolate and the dark chocolate compliments the lime fantastically.
Verdict
It wasn't love at first bite because lime is quite an usual flavor to find in a biscuit, however by the 2nd bite I began to really enjoy Island Bakery's Chocolate Limes and I soon found myself reaching for another. I will be on the look out for their Lemon Melts!
