We see plenty of bunnies and eggs at Easter but a carrot is a new one for me. According to the Lindt website these Lindt Carrot Double Milk chocolates are new and perhaps they are in the UK but I am aware that they have a hazelnut version in the US that has been around for a few years
I purchased this Lindt Carrot Double Milk in Sainsbury's, they are 60p each or 2 for £1. Each carrot weighs 13.5g and comes in an orange foil wrapper and with a green plastic umbrella handle style stick.
Once unwrapped you are presented with a small cone shaped chocolate. I bit the end off and could see that the inside was a white chocolate. The green stick came quite far down into the carrot, more than half way I would say so I had to be careful not to bite into that instead of the chocolate.
The milk chocolate was nice but it didn't seem as creamy as the usual Lindt milk chocolate. The white chocolate on the inside was delicious though, it was very sweet and smooth in texture, it wasn't as melty (is that a word?) like a Lindor which was what I had hoped but I enjoyed it anyway.
Verdict I think that these little carrot shaped treats look really cute and make a nice novelty item for Easter. That said you really don't get much chocolate for your money and also I am not the biggest fan of chocolate on sticks. Sticks are for ice cream, in chocolate it is just unnecessary and I don't want to break my teeth on a hidden bit of plastic. I probably won't buy these again but at the same time if someone offered me one I wouldn't turn it down because it was pretty tasty.
