Lindt Excellence Dark Chocolate Range Touch of Sea Salt

A Touch of Sea Salt

The lovely people at Lindt kindly sent me a few bits to review from their Dark Chocolate Excellence range. As regular readers will know I am a big fan of Lindt chocolates so I was only too pleased to oblige. I was sent 4 bars: A Touch of Sea Salt, Mint Intense, Orange Intense and 70% Cocoa and there was also some very posh sounding coffee in my parcel which I have been enjoying with this chocolate.
A Touch of Sea Salt is an interesting bar and one that I have wanted to try for a while as I have heard good reviews. I wasn't sure if I would enjoy it because I am quite fussy when it comes to mixing sweet and salty flavours. It is described as "a delicious blend of silky dark chocolate enhanced with just a touch of fine crystals of hand harvested sea salt".

A Touch of Sea Salt

I couldn't see the crystals of sea salt within the chocolate so they are obviously quite fine as described. As I tasted it, I didn't really notice the salt at first, just the lovely dark chocolate. The sea salt came in the after taste and I have to be honest and say that I wasn't keen on the taste. I seem to to be very sensitive to salty flavours so this wasn't really a great surprise to me. Mr Review Addict however absolutely loved this bar and he was quite pleased to take the rest of it off my hands and I noticed that it has very quickly disappeared so it's obviously a thumbs up from him.

Lindt Excellence Dark Chocolate Range Mint Intense

Mint Intense

I moved on to the Mint Intense bar. This is much more up my street, and I took advantage of the coffee and had a nice cup whilst I tried it. I just love a coffee and some minty chocolate after dinner and this Lindt bar definitely did the trick.

Mint Intense

For me, mint chocolate has to be dark and this combination from Lindt is one of my favourites. The peppermint flavor is natural and refreshing and I loved this bar!

Lindt Excellence Dark Chocolate Range Intense Orange

Intense Orange

Orange Intense is another fantastic bar and orange and dark chocolate is another combination that I am a huge fan of. This bar is a bit more interesting because it comes with crispy almond slivers which add a nice bit of texture and a slight nutty flavor. It smells delicious and the orange flavor is nice and strong and really is complimented by the dark chocolate.

The 70% Cocoa bar is quite fragrant and does have a slight floral taste to it as the wrapper describes. Usually I can't handle dark chocolate this strong as I find it too bitter and this Lindt bar does have a slight bitter after taste but it's still very enjoyable and another bar that I enjoyed with a cup of coffee.
Verdict Without a doubt my 2 favorite bars in the range were the Mint Intense and the Orange Intense, I award both of those the full 5 stars. The 70% Cocoa is awarded 4 stars and a Touch of Sea Salt which was my least favorite is awarded 3 stars, although Mr Review Addict would definitely argue with that. So overall this means that the overall star rating for the Lindt Excellent Dark range is 4 stars. All of the bars that I have reviewed and lots of ideas for Father's day chocolates  are available on the Lindt website.
