You may remember back in January that I reviewed Mango Mystique's Medium Variety Box. I absolutely loved these mango based chocolates and awarded them 5 stars. Mango Mystique kindly sent me through a box of one of my favourites from their selection, their Malibu and Mango chocolates.
I did receive one of these chocolates as part of the variety box that I reviewed before but didn't go into much detail about this particular flavor so I thought I would take the opportunity to write a more detailed review and to also inform you about Mango Mystique's Valentine's Day Collection (more on this later).
These Malibu and Mango chocolates are milk chocolate filled with mango butter and infused with Malibu and dusted with dried coconut milk powder. The outside shell is quite thick and is a very nice, good quality milk chocolate. The filling is absolutely delicious; it's a lovely sweet, tropical combination of mango with just hint of coconut from the Malibu. It's not overly boozy either but then I don't find that Malibu is a very boozy tasting drink anyway. The flavours really compliment each other and I can tell you now that this box will not last long...oh such a shame that my husband doesn't like mango so I get to eat them all to myself! Mango Mystique also have some special edition boxes of their lovely mango chocolates available for Valentine's Day, including a very appropriate red coloured chocolate! This red chocolate is actually a white chocolate that has been hand-painted red but I think you will agree that it looks stunning!
Mango Mystique really take pride in their packaging and all of their chocolates are presented in gorgeous printed tins. The Valentine's Day collection is no exception and consists of 3 lovely tins, 2 of them are heart-shaped and all 3 feature a very cute Cupid design.
The smallest of the boxes contains 3 of the red chocolates and is priced at £6.50. The rectangular box contains 6 of the red chocolates and costs £10.00. The larger heart-shaped box contains 1 red chocolate, 2 milk chocolates, 2 white chocolates and 2 of the absoultely devine dark chocolate with coconut ganache. Verdict
If you are a fan of mango then you will Mango Mystique. The Malibu and Mango chocolates are delicious and the Coconut Ganache flavor is even better. I would love to receive one of the Valentine's Day boxes on February the 14th; mango-based chocolates are way more interesting than a boring old box of plain chocolates!
