I was asked if I would like to try these new Mars Hot Chocolate pouches and even though I am not a fan of hot chocolate, this is the sort of thing that Mr Review Addict loves so he was more than happy to test them for me.
These aren't just ordinary hot chocolates because as well as being able to make them from water or milk, you can actually drink them hot or have them cold like a milk shake. The range is available from Asda or Tesco with a RRP of £1.99 and each pouch contains 7 servings
The Milky Way Stars drink suggests that you make it with milk and it contains actual mini magic stars which was pretty cool but they melted pretty much straightaway. You could see that this drink was very milky which is just what Mr Review Addict likes so this one was very popular. It contains 172 calories per serving.
The Maltesers drink can be made with milk or water, I made it with milk and a serving like this contains 194 calories (99 when made with water). Mr Review Addict said that he loved the malty flavor and it was the sweetest of the drinks that he tried.
Mars was always going to be popular with Mr Review Addict and contains 164 calories per serving. He loved the milky, caramel flavor and enjoyed it both hot and cold.
Galaxy Caramel was his favorite hot chocolate. He said it had a lovely caramel flavor and tasted creamy despite the fact I had made it with water. This contains 101 calories or 200 when made with milk.
Galaxy Ripple (88 calories made with water) and Galaxy (164 calories made with milk) were both very similar, although the Ripple version was more chocolatey due to to the tiny pieces of Ripple chocolate which like the Milky Way stars melted pretty much straight away.
VerdictMr Review Addict is awarding these new Mars Hot Chocolate Pouches 4 stars. He enjoyed them all and loved the idea of being able to make a hot or cold drink but his clear favorite was the Galaxy Caramel with Milky Way Stars a close 2nd.
