As my regular readers will know, I mostly review food and drink but sometimes I like to take a break from the norm and review something different.
Just before Christmas I decided that it was time for a new mobile phone and after eyeing up the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 for some time, I bit the bullet and purchased that bad boy! I know it's huge with it's 5.5" HDSuperAMOLED screen that's what I love about it, it makes reading ebooks, playing games and writing reviews on the go so much easier; I really can't fit an ipad in my handbag, it's full of enough stuff already! I also really love the S Pen and I am amazed at how good this feature is, particularly being a lefty.
Anyway I wanted to protect my pride and joy and had bought a cheap case of eBay. Sadly the saying you buy cheap, you buy twice has applied here and it hasn't lasted well at all. A lovely chap from GearZap.com offered to send me the official Samsung Galaxy Note 2 case to review.

The official Samsung Galaxy Note 2 case like the one that I received is currently on offer for £24.99 from GearZap and comes in a range of colours including pink, orange, white, mint green and titanium grey, so if you can afford it you can have one to go with each outfit...personally I think I might need a pink one at some point.
The thing that I really like about this case is that it doesn't add any bulk to your phone...let's be honest the Note 2 is big enough. This case replaces the actual back of the phone and then has a cover that flips round to protect the screen which is probably best as this phone ain't fitting in anyone's pocket so it is ideal for protecting my phone when it's in my handbag.
My cheap eBay case was actually very similar to the official case and the difference in quality is easy to see. The materials on the Samsung case feel a lot more robust and where it has been cut out around the speakers and the camera, it is a professional finish as you would expect.
Verdict
I am really chuffed with my new case for my Galaxy Note 2 so a big thank you to GearZap.com for sending it to me. It may be a little pricey but I would have happily paid the asking price now that I have seen what good quality this case is, it is much better than cheap imitations so well worth spending the money.
