Old El Paso Mexican Food
I was recently sent some goodies from Old El Paso which I was extremely grateful for because I love Mexican food! There were several meal kits included; Original Enchiladas, Quesadillas and 2 of their One Pan Rice Meals. Along with all that was 2 casserole mixes, corn relish and some sliced green jalapeños.
I hadn't tried the One Pan Rice meals before but they are really easy to prepare, you just need to add chicken and your choice of veggies. They come in 2 flavours; Extra Mild and Chilli and Garlic with the latter being my favorite as it has a little bit more of a kick.
Quesadillas are basically the Mexican version of a cheese toasty. In the pack you get 8 corn tortillas, a spice mix and a mild salsa. You just need to add your own extras such as chicken and of course cheese. Mr Review Addict and I like to throw some sweet corn in too and we experimented with some of the jalapeños which were pretty hot but added a lovely flavor.
Sweetcorn relish is a product that I buy quite often during the summer as we have it on burgers. I hadn't realised that Old El Paso made it too and I had never thought of having it as an accompaniment to Mexican food but it's great with Quesadillas and I imagine that it would be very nice with nachos too.
My favorite of the products was the Enchiladas. Within the kit you get 8 soft corn tortillas, 1 spice mix and 2 sachets of tomato sauce. The pack Serves 3-4 with 154 calories per enchilada.

As with the other meal kits, it's really easy to make. You just need to add some chicken, or alternatively you could use Quorn Chicken Style Pieces as I did and some grated cheese. Just prepare it as per the instructions and then bake in the oven for 10 minutes. The result is delicious and crispy Enchiladas which I find to be real comfort food!

They've got quite a kick to them so I had mine with some sour cream to cool it down a bit but there is a mild meal kit available if heat isn't your thing.
I haven't tried the casserole mixes yet but I am definitely looking forward to give them a go. They come in 5 different flavours with varying levels of heat and are designed to make Mexican slow cooking easy. Check out the Old El Paso website for more details.
Verdict
I've always been a fan of Old El Paso meal kits and I am loving the new products. The Rice Meals are really tasty and I will definitely be buying these again, along with my old favourites.
